Final Rule — Protection of Stratospheric Ozone: Change of Listing Status for Certain Substitutes under the Significant New Alternatives Policy Program.

In July, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued its Final Rule — Protection of Stratospheric Ozone: Change of Listing Status for Certain Substitutes under the Significant New Alternatives Policy Program.
Under this Final Rule, various HFCs and blends containing HFCs previously listed as acceptable alternatives are now listed as unacceptable in various applications. These proposed changes aim to lower the overall risk to human health and the environment.

Some of these bans will go into effect in 2016.
